Moland Creamery

Moland Creamery, situated on the Rice-Steele County border in Central Minnesota, was established in 1896. Renowned for its award-winning butter, the cooperative regularly collected ribbons at county fairs and the Minnesota State Fair. After serving the community for two decades, a fire razed the building on July 7, 1920.

Remarkably, the creamery was rebuilt in fewer than 90 days. The new structure boasted an upstairs auditorium that hosted local elections and community events, plus on-site accommodations for the butter makers. It continued to anchor the area until operations ceased in 1967.
